Product Description
The Bushnell H20 Binocular is specially constructed with a waterproof design for use in a variety of rugged situations. A compact and durable binocular, it is both water-proof and fog-proof so it can be used for almost all outdoor activities especially those that involve damp or wet conditions such as while out hunting or sailing in a boat. They are lightweight for their size at 27oz. (765g), standard size.
Waterproofing
As is commonly said “if you spend enough time on the water, your equipment will spend some time in it”. Being O-ring sealed to be 100% waterproof, the Bushnell H20 Binocular is completely resistant to both internal fogging as well as the effects of condensation moisture and so will provide reliable performance under these conditions.Fog-proofing
To make the Bushnell H2O fog-proof, its air has been completely emptied and replaced with dry nitrogen, which never condenses on the internal surfaces or lenses when there is a rapid shift in temperatures – a common occurrence when you’re out camping. – So there is no risk of damage from water, internal fogging, clouding or moisture damage or the nuisance of obscured vision – as all moisture is completely locked out if you accidentally drop it in the water or get it soaked while in the rain.Rubber Armoring
To give you a solid grip in slippery situations, these binoculars come with Non-slip rubber armoring with textured pads. These help by providing a more tactile feel so you can still hold onto them when weather conditions are muddy or wet. They also provide the added advantages of helping to absorb noise in situations that require dead silence - such as while out hunting; providing a bit more protection from scraping and dents than less well-covered binoculars; and helping absorb shocks which could damage the lenses or internal mechanisms.Center Focus Control
When it comes to control, these binoculars come with a fairly large center focus knob, which means it is equipped with a center-mounted wheel to simultaneously focus both lenses with easy, precise adjustments.Magnification
The specification of this particular Bushnell H2O binocular is 10x42mm. With its 10x magnification it is in the middle of the common range of magnifications, which tend to fall between 7-12x. To compensate for the fact that the effect of any shaking of your hands becomes much more noticeable at higher magnification ranges (above 8x); the Bushnell H2O binocular can easily be attached to a tripod for stability when you need to maintain a clear observation vantage point.Tripod Adaptable
Binoculars with high power magnification are very difficult to hold rock steady and the shaking motion can cause you to develop headaches as your eyes suffer from the strain of trying to compensate. These median power binoculars come with a standard 1/4-20 thread to attach them a to a tripod so you can get the stability you need to clearly view your target. Objective Diameter
The Bushnell H20 also comes with an objective diameter of 42mm, which ensures you can see images brightly. While 50mm would be even brighter (and ideal in dark conditions at 5 times the magnification), keeping to 42mm helps save on both weight and size – which certainly become factors to consider when you need to carry a lot of camping equipment your backpack.Multi-coated Optic Lenses
Coming to the lenses, these binoculars have been made with Multi-coated optics to guarantee you receive as much of the light transmitted as possible. It does this by coating the lenses to reduce how much light gets reflected and scattered inside the binoculars, which in turn ensures that the images you see are as bright and clear as they can be.There are 4 types of lens coating ranging from: coated, to multi coated, to fully coated, and finally, fully multi coated. The Bushnell H20 binoculars lenses are Multi Coated.
BaK-4 Prism Glass
In addition, it comes with premium quality BaK-4 prism glass which is one of the best glasses to maximize how much light gets transmitted through as well as how clear the image you view is. As it is a superior optical glass, it provides you with bright, crisp images with sharper edges than the ones you tend to see in less expensive binoculars; most of which tend to be manufactured with BK-7 prisms. All of which just means the images you see will be crystal clear.Prism System Porro
These binoculars have been constructed with the Porro prisms system, an older design that the newer roof system, they are wider than they are long with the front and back glasses offset in an S shape. With this system there is very little decrease in image quality or loss of light so they provide a better image. They are however more bulky to carry.Twist-Up Eyecups
You will be pleased with these binoculars if you wear glasses as they have twist-up eyecups that you can either roll down or fold a way so you can place your glasses directly on the eyecup, so your eyes are much closer to the eye piece.16mm Eye Relief
Eye relief is the distance from the ocular lens to the point where the image you want to view is in focus. If you need to wear glasses, the eye relief should be about 15 mm for you to see the whole image. With 16mm eye relief, most users will find these binoculars comfortable to use and capable of providing a full field of view.Field of View
Field of View is the distance seen from left to right when looking through the binoculars. A large field of view is preferable in situations where the object you are watching is likely to move, or when you are moving – both common situations in the field or while watching outdoor sports. However, The more you magnify your image or the greater the magnification of your lenses, the smaller your field of view. The majority of experts agree that a binocular with 8x or 10x magnification and a field of view of in the region of 330 ft. @ 1000 Yards provides the best balance of choices for most uses. These binoculars have 10x magnification and a field of view of 341 ft. @1000 yards.
Close Focus
These binoculars have close focus ability within a minimum of 15 feet. So while they are ideal for bird watching and hunting they may not be fantastic for such activities as butterfly observation or other activities that require very close range viewing.Exit Pupil
The Exit pupil is the size of the image as it comes out of binoculars. Depending on the amount of light present, the size of your eyes pupils varies from 2-3mm in bright light to 6-8mm in low light. Ideally, the exit pupil should match the pupil diameter to provide as much light as the eye can use in dim situations. This is usually found in quite expensive binoculars. The Bushnell H2O binoculars have an exit pupil of 4.2mm.Warranty
The Bushnell H20 comes with a limited lifetime warranty. So it is guaranteed to be free of defects in materials and workmanship for the lifetime of the original owner.Specifications:
